Baked Pears with Berries, Honey, Walnuts & Blue Cheese
Ingredients
3 ripe pears (Bosc or Bartlett), halved and cored
2 tbsp butter, melted
2 tbsp honey
½ cup fresh mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, or cranberries)
¼ cup chopped walnuts (lightly toasted)
¼ cup crumbled blue cheese or gorgonzola
½ tsp cinnamon
Fresh thyme leaves (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
Preheat Oven:
Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
Prepare the Pears:
Slice pears in half and remove cores with a spoon to create small hollows. Brush each half with melted butter and drizzle lightly with honey.
Bake the Pears:
Place the pears cut-side up in the baking dish. Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake for 20–25 minutes until tender and slightly caramelized.
Add the Toppings:
Remove from the oven and spoon berries and walnuts into the center of each pear. Crumble blue cheese over the top and drizzle with a touch more honey.
Final Bake:
Return to the oven for another 5 minutes, just until the cheese softens and begins to melt slightly.
Serve:
Garnish with fresh thyme leaves if desired. Serve warm as an elegant appetizer or dessert with a hint of savory depth.
