🍪❤️ THE CUTEST CHUBBY GINGERBREAD MEN – NO COOKIE CUTTERS NEEDED! ❤️🍪
Yesterday, I sent a dozen chubby gingerbread men to school with my 12th grader, just for fun… and guess what? The big kids absolutely LOVED them! 😍
There’s something so special about homemade cookies showing up at a lunch table — suddenly everyone turns into a kid again. Soft, spicy, sweet, a little silly… and completely irresistible!
These gingerbread men are extra adorable because you shape them by hand. No cutters, no fuss. Just old-fashioned, cozy baking that fills your kitchen with warm holiday smells — ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and a touch of molasses. Pure Christmas magic. ✨
🍪
INGREDIENTS
- ¾ cup butter, softened
- ½ cup molasses
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 Tbsp hot water
- 1 large egg
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 ½ tsp ground ginger
- 1 ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground cloves
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- Red hot candies for decorating
🎄
HOW TO MAKE CHUBBY GINGERBREAD MEN (NO CUTTERS!)
- Cream together the softened butter, sugar, and molasses until smooth and silky.
- Mix in the egg and hot water, stirring until everything is well combined.
- Add the baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves. Your kitchen will smell amazing already!
- Slowly add the flour until you have a soft but workable dough. If it’s sticky, chill it for 15–20 minutes.
- Now comes the fun part — shape little chubby gingerbread men by hand!
- Roll a ball for the tummy
- Smaller balls for the head, arms, and legs
- Press gently together to form a plump, cute little gingerbread body
- Add red hot candies for buttons or eyes.
- Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 8–10 minutes. The edges should be set and the centers soft.
