Quick 10-Minute Stovetop Bread

For the Bread Dough
- 4 cups (480 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (220 g) plain yogurt
- 1 cup (200 ml) water
- 1 packet (10 g) baking powder
- 1 tsp (8 g) salt
- 1 tbsp (10 ml) vegetable oil
Optional Add-ins
- 1 tbsp sugar (for a slightly sweet bread)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Fresh herbs
- Extra oil or butter for brushing

1. Make the Dough
- In a large mixing bowl, combine:
- flour
- baking powder
- salt
- Add the yogurt, water, and vegetable oil.
- Mix with a spoon at first, then use your hands to bring the dough together.
- Knead for 2–3 minutes until smooth and soft.
- If too sticky → sprinkle a little flour.
- If too dry → add 1–2 tbsp water.
2. Shape the Bread
- Divide the dough into 8–10 equal balls.
- Lightly flour your surface.
- Roll each ball into a circle about ¼ inch (½ cm) thick.
3. Cook the Bread (NO OVEN!)
- Heat a nonstick skillet or cast-iron pan over medium heat.
- Place one rolled dough piece into the dry pan (no oil needed).
- Cook for 1–2 minutes until bubbles form and the bottom gets golden.
- Flip and cook another 1–2 minutes.
- Flip one more time if needed until fully cooked and lightly browned.
- Repeat with remaining dough.
4. Optional Finishing Touches
Brush warm breads with one of the following for extra flavor:
- Melted butter
- Garlic butter
- Olive oil with herbs
- Honey butter (for sweet version)
