Old Fashioned Butter Cake
Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
- In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk.
- Stir in vanilla.
- Pour into a greased and floured 10-in. tube pan.
- Bake at 350°F for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
- Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack to cool completely.
