Steak with butter in the air fryer
This is a simple way to make steak when you don’t want to use the grill. The outside gets a nice brown color, the inside stays soft, and the butter on top makes it taste even better.
Things you need
Two ribeye or sirloin steaks that are about an inch thick
Black pepper and salt
1 teaspoon of garlic powder (optional)
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1–2 tablespoons of butter
How to do it
Let the steaks sit at room temperature.
Take the steaks out of the fridge about 20 minutes before you cook them. Use paper towels to dry them off.
Time of year
If you’re using garlic powder, rub the steaks lightly with olive oil and then season them well with salt and pepper.
Set the air fryer to the right temperature.
For about five minutes, heat it to 400°F (200°C).
Cook
Put the steaks in the basket of the air fryer in one layer.
Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, turning the food over halfway through.
8 minutes = medium-rare
9 minutes = medium
10 minutes = medium-well
Put in butter
Put a pat of butter on each steak as soon as they come out of the oven. Let it melt over the top.
Take a break
Before you cut into the steaks, let them sit for five minutes. This keeps them moist.
Advice
You might need to cook thicker steaks for an extra minute or two.
Add a little garlic butter or a pinch of fresh herbs for more flavor.
If you’re not sure, always use a meat thermometer to check if it’s done.
