This Is How I Make My Orange Cake with Walnuts
Ingredients
3 eggs
150 g sugar
1 pinch of salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
130 ml vegetable oil
150 ml freshly squeezed orange juice
Zest of 1 orange
300 g all-purpose wheat flour
15 g baking powder
100 g chopped walnuts
Equipment
One 24 cm cake pan, greased and floured
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a large bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar and salt until light and frothy.
- Add the vanilla, oil, orange juice, and orange zest. Mix well.
- Gradually fold in the sifted flour and baking powder, mixing gently.
- Add 70 g of the chopped walnuts and mix until evenly incorporated.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and decorate the top with the remaining 30 g of walnuts.
Baking
Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Note
This recipe makes one 24 cm pan or two 16 cm pans.
