FRENCH ONION GROUND BEEF AND RICE CASSEROLE 🧅🍚🧀

📋 Ingredients:

1 pound ground beef

1 cup long-grain white rice

1 can (10.5 oz) French onion soup

1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained

1 cup beef broth

1 medium onion, thinly sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon dried thyme

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup shredded Swiss cheese

👩‍🍳 Directions:

1️⃣ Preheat Oven

Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

2️⃣ Sauté Onions & Garlic

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.

Add sliced onions and cook for about 5 minutes until soft and lightly golden.

Add minced garlic and cook for 1 more minute until fragrant.

3️⃣ Brown the Beef

Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up as it cooks.

Cook until browned, about 5–7 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.

4️⃣ Build the Base

Stir in French onion soup, diced tomatoes (with juice), beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and pepper.

Bring everything to a gentle simmer.

5️⃣ Add the Rice

Stir in the rice, mixing until well combined.

Remove from heat and transfer everything into the prepared baking dish.

6️⃣ Bake It Right

Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.

Uncover, sprinkle Swiss cheese evenly on top, and return to the oven for 10–15 minutes, or until bubbly and melted.

7️⃣ Cool & Serve

Let it rest a few minutes before slicing to enjoy those creamy, cheesy layers!
