🧴 Vinegar Laundry Recipe (The Right Way)
What you need:
- White distilled vinegar (5%)
- Regular laundry detergent
- Washing machine
✅ For Whiter Whites
- Load your white clothes into the washer (don’t overload).
- Add your regular detergent as usual.
- Pour ½ to 1 cup of white vinegar into the fabric softener compartment (not directly on clothes).
- Wash on warm or hot water (check fabric labels).
- Air dry or tumble dry.
👉 Vinegar removes detergent buildup and mineral residue that causes dull, yellow whites.
✅ For Softer Towels
- Place towels in the washer.
- Add detergent only if towels are very dirty (use less than normal).
- Add 1 cup white vinegar to the rinse cycle / fabric softener slot.
- Wash with warm water.
- Dry completely (preferably with dryer balls).
👉 Vinegar breaks down stiffening residue and restores fluffiness.
❌ Common Mistakes to Avoid
- ❌ Don’t mix vinegar with bleach (dangerous).
- ❌ Don’t pour vinegar directly on dry clothes.
- ❌ Don’t use it every wash—once every 1–2 weeks is enough.
🌿 Bonus Tip (Extra Freshness)
Add 5–10 drops of essential oil (lavender or lemon) to a cloth and toss it in the dryer for a fresh scent.
