Hibachi-Style Steak, Scallops & Fried Rice
Ingredients:
For the Steak & Scallops:
1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into cubes
1 lb sea scallops
Salt & black pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon soy sauce
For the Fried Rice:
3 cups cooked rice (preferably day-old)
2 eggs
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped green onions
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon oil
For the Noodles:
8 oz spaghetti or lo mein noodles
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon teriyaki sauce
1 tablespoon butter
For the Sauce (Yum Yum Sauce):
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1 tablespoon water (to thin)
Instructions:
Cook the Fried Rice:
Heat oil in a pan. Scramble the eggs first, then add onion and cooked rice.
Stir-fry for 3–4 minutes. Add soy sauce and green onions. Mix well and set aside.
Cook the Noodles:
Boil noodles according to package instructions.
Drain and toss with butter, soy sauce, and teriyaki sauce. Cook 2–3 minutes until coated.
Cook the Steak:
Season steak with salt and pepper.
Sear in a hot pan with butter for 3–4 minutes until browned.
Add garlic and soy sauce, cook 1 more minute.
Cook the Scallops:
Pat scallops dry. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
Sear in a very hot pan with butter for 2–3 minutes per side until golden.
Make the Sauce:
Mix mayonnaise, ketchup, garlic powder, paprika, and water until smooth.
Assemble the Plate:
Serve steak, scallops, fried rice, noodles, sautéed vegetables, and drizzle with yum yum sauce.
