Crockpot BBQ Butter Chicken

🍗 Crockpot BBQ Butter Chicken (3 Ingredients + Seasoning)

Ingredients

  • 2–2½ lbs chicken (thighs, drumsticks, or both)
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (Sweet Baby Ray’s style works great)
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt (optional, depending on your BBQ sauce)

Instructions

  1. Add chicken to the crockpot
Arrange the raw chicken in an even layer.
  2. Season
Sprinkle garlic powder, black pepper, and salt evenly over the chicken.
  3. Sauce it up
Pour BBQ sauce over the chicken, making sure everything is coated.
  4. Add butter
Place the whole stick of butter right on top (don’t cut it—let it melt slowly).
  5. Cook
    • LOW: 4–5 hours
    • HIGH: 2½–3 hours
Cook until chicken is fall-apart tender and fully cooked.
  6. Optional (but worth it!)
For extra sticky chicken, remove the lid during the last 30 minutes or broil the chicken for 5 minutes after cooking.
